A Guide to Lewisham London


The Borough of Lewisham is situated in the south east of London and is regarded as one of the Thirty-Five major centres of London. Lewisham has a very long history and King Alfred was one Lord of the Manor. There is a commemorative plaque to celebrate this at Lewisham Library.

There is a very diverse community in the Borough and statistic show it has one of the youngest age groups in London.

Lewisham is currently undergoing a major revamp with new buildings, offices and homes being built in the area.

There are great transport links also with the railway station and Docklands Light Railway taking you into the heart of the City.

There is also a popular shopping centre with over 70 shops and restaurants. There is also a great market outside the mall for all bargain hunters.

You could visit Blackheath for the wide open spaces, which also holds events and firework displays.
